Our 37th annual flower show was held in July, once again in the Community Centre Hall.
Admission was free to all and a steady flow of visitors came along to admire the blooms.
Most of the major honours went to local residents.
The club champion, for the exhibitor who gained the most points, was Ray Jones.
The trophy for best fuchsia in the show went to Ken Wardle.
The Bryn Derw trophy, for the best Fuchsia in classes F1 – F25 was claimed by Keith Lawrence.
The trophy for the best geranium in the show went just up the road to Buckley.
The café was open for the duration of the show enabling visitors to use these facilities.
It was brought to our attention that there are still residents of the area who were not aware of the show.
The society will look at ways to advertise the event more at local level. Any suggestions as to how we can do this will be gratefully received.
